Halo Infinite did not justify the hopes assigned to her. In early February of this year, 343 Industries, responsible for the development of the game, conducted large -scale dismissals, as a result of which about 25% of employees were lost. There were even rumors that the team was removed from working on the series, but they were refuted. However, now there is every reason to believe that the situation in 343 Industries has stabilized and the team began to work on "a large project".
The source of this information is Max Hoberman, t.e. President of Certain Affinity.
Certain Affinity was founded in 2006 by former employees of Bungie. In recent years, the team worked with 343 Industries on Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite.
This "Large project", which Max Joberman is talking about, is developed as the fruit of Certain Affinity cooperation with 343 Industries.
Work on this game, which almost certainly will become the next part of Halo, is already at a fairly advanced stage. In the LinkedIn profile of the former developer 343 Industries, you can find information that before his dismissal in January of this year, he worked on an officially not announced project.
Recall that Halo Infinite debuted in 2021 on PC and consoles Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The multi-user mode was available according to the Free-to-Play model, which allowed the game to achieve very high estimates of activity in Steam. However, then she lost most players. Now the situation has stabilized, and production is in full swing. The recent launch of the fifth season led to a small Renaissance of popularity, and now the records of daily activity are about 10,000 players who simultaneously play in Steam.
Especially promising for the future game is the addition of enemies controlled by artificial intelligence in the fifth season, which allows you to create new cards. Thus, it will finally become possible to create new single-user adventures. The first of them have already begun to appear – for example, the host of the Nikos channel developed a remake of the Silent Cartographer mission from Halo: Combat Evolved.
